Development Project for Community-Based Cultural Tourism in Le Diem Village Approved
The "Development of Community-Based Cultural Tourism in Le Diem Village (Song Hinh Commune) to 2025, with a vision toward 2030" project has been approved by local authorities. The project aims to gradually transform Le Diem Village into an attractive tourist destination, closely linked with preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of the local Ede people.
Le Diem Village is currently home to approximately 160 households, predominantly of the Ede ethnic group. The village possesses significant potential for community-based cultural tourism, thanks to its rich traditional cultural values, including Ede longhouses, folk dances, gongs, indigenous cuisine (stream fish, upland rice, forest vegetables), brocade weaving, basketry, and traditional rice wine brewing. However, tourism activities in the village have remained small-scale, spontaneous, and lacking in proper planning and systematic investment.

The project outlines several practical solutions, such as: establishing a community-based tourism management model, investing in tourism infrastructure and landscapes, integrating Ede culture and traditional crafts into tourism products, training the local workforce, and enhancing promotion and brand building for Le Diem Village. The total projected investment capital is approximately 30 billion VND, to be mobilized through calls for investment and other legitimate sources.

At the approval meeting, delegates expressed strong consensus on the project. They also proposed prioritizing several immediate actions, including developing a set of destination narratives and stories, creating "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) items, and organizing training workshops to improve skills and community awareness in tourism activities.
